Banking & Payments Federation Ireland proudly presents the 2025 National Payments Conference taking place in The Convention Centre Dublin on Thursday 13th March from 9.00 to 13.30 followed by a networking lunch.

Featuring an exceptional line up of Irish and international experts, including leading bankers, fintech pioneers, regulators and policymakers this year’s theme, ‘Shaping the future of payments: Navigating innovation and change’, focuses on the transformative forces reshaping the payments industry. The conference will be hosted in collaboration with our sponsors, Diebold Nixdorf, Square and Swift and promises lively discussions on the evolving payments landscape.

A series of panel discussions and fireside chats will address core topics including:

• An opening keynote by the Central Bank’s Deputy Governor Monetary and Financial Stability, Vasileios Madouros who will provide fresh insights into critical agendas such as payment innovation, digitisation, regulation and financial crime.

Account to Account evolution: Reimagining the future of money movement

With a commitment to support the Account-to-Account (A2A) evolution clear in Ireland’s National Payments Strategy, this panel will explore the transformative potential of A2A payments in reshaping the future of money movement. Industry leaders, including banking executives, fintech innovators and regulatory experts, will share insights on how A2A payments are streamlining transactions, reducing costs and enhancing customer experiences.

Fraud in Focus: Fast threats, smart defences

Fraud is evolving rapidly alongside innovations in payments. As instant payment systems and digital wallets transform how money moves, fraudsters are adapting with increasingly sophisticated techniques. Our panel will examine the critical elements of fraud prevention in the payments ecosystem, including the regulatory challenges posed by the draft Payments Services Regulation (PSR), the rise of real-time payment fraud, and social engineering scams.

Underpinning the discussion is the essential role of collaboration, between banks, fintechs, regulators, and consumers to build a resilient defence against fraud while fostering trust in payments.

Fireside Chat: Seamless transactions: The next wave of global payments

In this engaging fireside chat with global payment leaders we explore the future of payments in an increasingly interconnected world. This session will delve into the critical role of interoperability in enabling seamless cross-border transactions, the power of collaboration in driving industry-wide innovation, and the quest for operational excellence to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Through thought-provoking discussions, our chat will share insights on transformative technologies reshaping payment experiences, from real-time payments to next-generation platforms. Together, we’ll uncover how the industry can reimagine the global payment ecosystem to create a future of frictionless, secure, and inclusive transactions.

Future of Finance: Innovating payments with digital wallets and embedded solutions

Join our panel to explore the transformative role of payments, digital wallets and embedded payment solutions in reshaping the financial landscape. Our experts will discuss the evolution of payments and the digital wallet, and the rapid adoption across many jurisdictions. We will look at consumer trends and behaviours, how these are evolving and how propositions are adjusting and enhancing to meet these needs. We will also explore the integration of payments into non-commercial platforms and how these can enhance user engagement and streamline transactions and unlock opportunities.
