Anna B Savage is a remarkable singer songwriter from London, joining us in Limerick for her debut show in the city on Friday January 31st at the All we Have are Days festival. The show will also be her first in Ireland since the release of her third record, You and i are Earth, following on from her critically acclaimed records A Common Turn and in|FLUX,
The child of opera singer parents, a fact obvious in the range and power of her voice, Anna has rooted herself in Ireland since 2020 when she moved to Dublin to undertake a Masters in Music at BIMM. She has spent much of her time on the west coast, dipping back to her home in Donegal between bouts of touring (this year supporting The Staves and St Vincent – having previously toured with Father John Misty and Son Lux amongst others) and trips to London for work and recording.
Her third record, You and i are Earth, released on January 25th, is a record about healing and curiosity, but is, more simply, “a love letter to a man and to Ireland.” It folds in some of Ireland’s brightest contemporary musicians, with Kate Ellis and Caimin Gilmore from Crash Ensemble, Cormac Dermody from Lankum and Anna Mieke contributing vocals, strings, harmonium, bouzouki, taishōgoto and clarinets to the album, all tied together by producer John ‘Spud’ Murphy, of Lankum and Black Midi.
Anna B Savage plays her debut Limerick show at All we Have are Days on Friday, January 31st in The Commercial’s Record Room. The show is one of many across the wider weekend of performances and conversations with artists including Ruth Negga, Lisa Hannigan, Quantic, Bell X1’s Paul Noonan, Gemma Hayes, Denise Chaila, Niamh Regan, windings, Donal Dineen, Brian B+ Cross and more to be announced.
All we Have are Days welcomes Irish and international artists for unique shows in venues across Limerick City during the February bank holiday. A winter weekend, with music at its heart, All we Have are Days is in partnership with Guinness, Limerick City & County Council, and Limerick Chamber of Commerce.
