Speaker Profile:
Dr. Ian Michel is Professor of Marketing at Zayed University, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Ian is the co-producer and story narrator of ‘An Gorta Mor: Passage to India’ an award-winning documentary that traces his ancestor’s (great-great-great grandfather) John Footman’s journey to India at the peak of the Great Famine. Ian’s research that went into the story and subsequently the creation of the documentary has been shortlisted for “Research Project of the Year: Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences", award given by the prestigious Times Higher Education Awards, THE Awards Arab World 2024.
