About this event

Join local Artist and Musician Carol Wilson from the ArtSea Collective and learn the basics of landscape painting on Saturday 30th September 2023 at 3pm - 4pm at Rathmullan Pier. This step by step tutorial aimed at young people aged 8+ will demonstrate a range of acrylic painting techniques to enable you to create your very own original landscape painting to take away.

No previous experience required and all materials will be provided. However, please note you will be working with acrylic paints so wear clothes you don't mind getting paint on or bring an apron.

The workshop will take place in a pop-up marquee beside the ArtSea shop at the pier in Rathmullan. Spaces are limited so to secure a place, please book early by signing up through Eventbrite. Once you have registered we will be back in touch with further information.

The workshop is funded by International Fund for Ireland under the Communities in Partnership Programme.

Carol Wilson is a local artist and musician and founding member of the ArtSea Rathmullan co-cop art & craft shop based by the Pier, Rathmullan. She was born in the Donegal Gaeltacht and now lives in Rathmullan and as a landscape artist is inspired by the deep, rich colours of the west Donegal bogland and the ever-changing Donegal skies. With an honors degree in Art & Design and Visual Communication, Carol is an accomplished landscape artist whose work has been exhibited widely.

Coasts, Hills & Glens – Connecting Communities Project is a new cross-border social innovation programme funded by International Fund for Ireland led by Rathmulllan The Way Forward CLG, a community based organization based in Rathmullan, Co Donegal in partnership with Enterprise Causeway, an enterprise agency based in Coleraine, Northern Ireland.

This newly established partnership brings both organisations together to explore opportunities for cross-border collaboration between similarly focused regeneration, development and social enterprise groups north and south. The project designed is a social innovation project which as the name suggests will connect the representatives of villages, rural and coastal communities north and south from across the identified geographical area. The project is being supported by the International Fund for Ireland under the Communities in Partnership Programme and fits with the theme of community Innovation and creating the conditions necessary for the development of social enterprise and innovation for participating groups.
