UCC Battle of the Bands winners 2022---------------Upstart Festival is an outdoor event in the beautiful harbourside setting of Glounthaune Village, which brings to the stage 5 great indie acts, established and emerging bands, with a strong Cork flavour! Spend the day with friends listening to new music. This is the second year of the one-day festival, following last years hugely successful event, and is again supported by funding from the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media and Cork County Council.This is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit event run by Glounthaune Community Association.The organisers reserve the right to make changes to the line-up and event at any stage, up to and including on the day of the event.-----------------F.A.Q.sWho can attend?This event has a strict age policy, 16s and over only. You may be required to show ID. Right of admission is reserved.What do I need to bring? This is a fully outdoor event and the event will finish in the dark, dress appropriately. Bring your ticket, your mobile phone. Small bags only. What are my transport parking/options getting to the event?This is a 'no-car' event. Parking will not be available in the vicinity. Please walk, cycle, take public transport or get dropped off!Glounthaune is served by a train and bus service. The Cork-Cobh/Midleton commuter train brings you from Cork(Kent Station) to Glounthaune in just 10 minutes. You can use a LEAP card. Example of Departure times from Cork 15.00, 15.15, 16.00, 16.15, 16.30, 17.00 . Glounthaune is only 13 minutes journey from Midleton &amp; Cobh.Always check train times on www.irishrail.ie and bus times on www.buseireann.ie (Nearest Bus Stop is Glounthaune-Church directly at the park entrance).Attendees with a Disabled Persons Parking Permit or with significant mobility issues will be accommodated.Will food and drink be available?Yes, there will be coffee and food stalls to meet your needs throughout the day. There is no alcohol for sale at the event, the pub next door will be open all day.Are there health restrictions?Attendees need to adhere to any covid requirements that may be in force on that date. You cannot attend if you have covid on that date or have been advised by the HSE to isolate or quarantine.Can I bring my dog? Sorry, no dogs except guide dogs.
